Engines Outlet Refund & Replacement Policy

Last Updated: September 2026

At Engines Outlet, we are committed to providing quality used and replacement automotive engines, transmissions, and related parts. This Refund & Replacement Policy explains the conditions that apply to cancellations, returns, refunds, warranty-related replacements, and defective products.

Customers are encouraged to carefully review product information, vehicle compatibility, order details, and applicable warranty terms before placing an order.

1. No Refunds on Special-Ordered Parts

Special-ordered, custom-ordered, or specifically sourced parts are generally non-refundable.

Because these products may be purchased or sourced specifically for a particular customer or vehicle, cancellation or return may not be available once the special order has been processed.

Customers should confirm the year, make, model, engine size, transmission type, VIN, engine code, and other applicable vehicle information before placing a special order.

2. Original Receipt Required

All approved returns, refunds, or replacement requests must be accompanied by valid purchase documentation, including the original receipt, invoice, order number, or other proof of purchase requested by Engines Outlet.

Engines Outlet reserves the right to decline a return or refund request when sufficient purchase documentation cannot be provided.

3. Labor Charges

Engines Outlet does not cover labor charges under this Refund & Replacement Policy or warranty unless specifically agreed to in writing.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Engine removal and installation
  • Transmission removal and installation
  • Diagnostic labor
  • Inspection charges
  • Vehicle teardown and reassembly
  • Repair shop labor
  • Additional mechanical labor
  • Programming or diagnostic services

4. Used Parts and Cosmetic Condition

Engines Outlet sells used and previously installed automotive components. The condition of a used part may vary from one product to another.

Engines Outlet generally guarantees the performance of the applicable covered part, not its cosmetic appearance.

Normal cosmetic conditions may include:

  • Surface rust
  • Scratches
  • Dents
  • Paint wear
  • Discoloration
  • Surface corrosion
  • Signs of previous installation or use

Cosmetic imperfections that do not affect the mechanical performance of the part are not considered a defect for purposes of a refund or replacement.

5. Abuse, Commercial and Industrial Use

Abuse, misuse, racing, competition use, improper operation, or operation outside the manufacturer's specifications may void applicable warranty or replacement coverage.

Unless expressly agreed to in writing, commercial, industrial, heavy-duty, or specialized use may be subject to different terms or may be excluded from standard warranty coverage.

Examples of potentially excluded use include:

  • Racing or competition
  • Performance testing
  • Excessive towing or hauling beyond manufacturer specifications
  • Industrial applications
  • Commercial applications subject to unusually heavy operation
  • Vehicle modifications that affect engine or transmission performance
  • Unauthorized tuning or performance modifications

6. Cancellation & Refund Policy

Customers may request cancellation of an order before shipment by contacting Engines Outlet as soon as possible.

Cancellation is subject to the status of the order and the applicable product-specific terms.

Cancellation Before Shipping

If an order is cancelled for reasons other than a verified performance-related issue, a 30% restocking fee may apply.

The remaining eligible amount, after applicable deductions, may be processed according to the original payment method and applicable payment-processing procedures.

Cancellation After Shipping

If an order is cancelled after the product has shipped, a 30% restocking fee may apply in addition to applicable shipping charges.

Where the product has already entered transit, the customer may also be responsible for return transportation or other shipping-related costs.

Refusal of Delivery

If a customer refuses delivery at the doorstep or otherwise declines to accept a shipped order, a 30% restocking fee may apply together with applicable shipping charges for transportation to and from the destination.

Refusing delivery does not automatically constitute an approved return or cancellation.

7. Deposits and Booking Amounts

All deposits and booking amounts are collected in good faith to reserve, source, process, or allocate a product for the customer.

Deposits and booking amounts are generally non-refundable, subject to applicable law and any specific written terms provided with the order.

Customers should confirm product compatibility and order details before making a deposit or booking payment.

8. Warranty-Related Defect

If an eligible engine, transmission, head, block, or other covered component is determined to have a qualifying performance-related defect during the applicable warranty period, Engines Outlet may provide a replacement or other remedy in accordance with the applicable warranty terms.

Warranty coverage is subject to proper installation, maintenance, operation, and compliance with all applicable warranty requirements.

For complete installation requirements, customers should review the Engines Outlet Warranty Policy.

9. Standard Replacement Warranty

Unless a different warranty period is specifically stated on the applicable invoice, order confirmation, or written warranty documentation, Engines Outlet provides a standard 30-day replacement warranty for eligible used engines, transmissions, heads, blocks, and other covered products.

The applicable product-specific warranty documentation may contain different terms or coverage periods.

10. Warranty Claim Procedure

In the unlikely event that an eligible engine, cylinder head, block, or transmission develops a qualifying defect, the customer must contact Engines Outlet promptly.

Warranty claims should be submitted to:

Attention: Claims / Warranty Department
Email: sales@enginesoutlet.com

Customers should stop operating the vehicle if continued operation could cause additional damage.

11. Documents Required for a Warranty Claim

To evaluate a warranty claim, Engines Outlet may require the following information and documentation:

  • Original receipt or invoice
  • Order number
  • Copy of a valid Driver's License or State-issued Photo ID
  • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • Vehicle year, make, and model
  • Engine or transmission identification information
  • Detailed diagnostic report
  • Photographs of the defective component
  • Videos demonstrating the reported problem, where applicable
  • Mechanic's name and contact information
  • Mechanic's certification or professional credentials
  • Installation and maintenance receipts
  • Evidence that required warranty procedures were completed
  • Any additional information reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim

The documentation requested may vary depending on the nature of the claim.

12. Certified Mechanic Requirement

A detailed diagnostic report from a qualified or certified automotive mechanic may be required before a warranty replacement or refund is approved.

The diagnostic report should clearly identify the suspected failure, explain the diagnostic findings, and include supporting photographs or videos where appropriate.

Engines Outlet may contact the mechanic or repair facility to verify the information provided.

13. Review of Warranty Claim

Once the required documentation has been received, Engines Outlet will review the claim and determine whether the reported issue qualifies under the applicable warranty terms.

Depending on the circumstances, Engines Outlet may request additional documentation, photographs, videos, diagnostic information, or an inspection of the part.

Submission of a warranty claim does not automatically constitute approval.

14. Refund or Replacement Decision

If a warranty claim is approved, Engines Outlet may, subject to the applicable warranty terms and product availability, provide a replacement product or an eligible refund.

The available remedy may depend on:

  • The nature of the failure
  • The applicable warranty terms
  • Whether the product was properly installed
  • Whether required maintenance was completed
  • Whether the product was modified or disassembled
  • Availability of a suitable replacement
  • The applicable order and payment terms

15. Accessories Are Not Covered

Accessories and external components are generally not covered by the used engine or transmission warranty unless specifically stated otherwise in writing.

Depending on the product, excluded accessories may include items such as:

  • Alternators
  • Starters
  • Air-conditioning components
  • Fuel injection components
  • Carburetors
  • Sensors
  • Switches
  • Turbochargers
  • Intercoolers
  • Water pumps
  • Thermostats
  • Belts
  • Hoses
  • Pulleys
  • Wiring and electrical components
  • Other external accessories

Accessories that are missing, damaged, worn, or defective may not qualify for warranty coverage unless specifically included in the written warranty for the applicable order.

16. Shipping Charges

Shipping charges are generally not covered under warranty.

Customers may be responsible for shipping, return transportation, freight, handling, or other transportation-related expenses unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

17. Return Authorization Required

Customers must obtain authorization from Engines Outlet before returning a product.

Products should not be shipped back without receiving return instructions. Unauthorized returns may be delayed, refused, or processed differently from an authorized warranty return.

18. Product Inspection

Returned products may be inspected to determine the cause of the reported problem and whether the claim qualifies under the applicable warranty.

The inspection may consider:

  • Installation procedures
  • Maintenance history
  • Fluid condition
  • Evidence of overheating
  • Evidence of abuse or misuse
  • Unauthorized modifications
  • Disassembly or repair
  • Physical damage
  • Compatibility with the vehicle

19. Unauthorized Disassembly or Repair

Customers must not disassemble, rebuild, modify, repair, or alter an engine or transmission that is the subject of a warranty claim without prior written authorization from Engines Outlet.

Unauthorized disassembly or modification may result in denial of the warranty claim.

20. Installation Requirements

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the replacement product is installed correctly and that all required installation and maintenance procedures are completed.

For engines, this may include replacing applicable oil, air, and fuel filters; seals and gaskets; thermostat; timing components; belts; hoses; spark plugs; and other required components.

For transmissions, this may include replacing seals and filters, flushing cooling lines, correctly installing the torque converter, using manufacturer-specified fluid, clearing transmission codes, and completing required adjustments.

21. Compatibility

The customer is responsible for providing accurate vehicle information and confirming compatibility before installation.

Customers should provide accurate information including:

  • Year
  • Make
  • Model
  • Engine size
  • Engine code
  • Transmission type
  • Drivetrain
  • VIN
  • Other identification information requested by Engines Outlet

If a customer installs a product that is not compatible with the vehicle, the resulting problem may not qualify for a refund or warranty replacement.

22. Core Returns

Where a core return or core charge applies, the customer must return the applicable core according to the instructions provided by Engines Outlet.

Core charges and core refunds are subject to the applicable order terms and inspection requirements.

23. Shipping Damage

Customers should inspect their shipment as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If visible damage is discovered, customers should take photographs of the packaging and product and notify Engines Outlet promptly.

Shipping damage claims may require photographs, delivery information, carrier documentation, and other supporting evidence.

24. Incorrect or Missing Product

If a customer receives a product that appears to be incorrect, incomplete, or materially different from the ordered product, the customer should contact Engines Outlet promptly before installing or modifying the product.

Customers should provide photographs, order information, and other requested documentation so that the issue can be reviewed.

25. Installation Before Verification

Customers should verify the product, part number, compatibility, and physical condition before installation.

Installing, modifying, painting, rebuilding, machining, or otherwise altering a product before reporting an issue may affect eligibility for a return, refund, or replacement.

26. No Refund for Cosmetic Differences

Because many Engines Outlet products are used automotive components, cosmetic appearance may vary.

Minor differences in color, surface condition, paint, rust, scratches, dents, or other normal signs of prior use do not automatically qualify for a refund or replacement when the part performs as intended.

27. Refund Processing

When a refund is approved, the refund will generally be processed using the original payment method, subject to the applicable payment provider's processing requirements.

Processing time may vary depending on the payment method, financial institution, payment processor, or other circumstances outside the direct control of Engines Outlet.

28. Restocking Fee

A 30% restocking fee may apply to eligible order cancellations or returns that are not the result of a verified performance-related warranty issue.

The restocking fee may also apply when an order is refused after shipment, together with applicable shipping charges.

29. Non-Refundable Charges

Depending on the circumstances of the order, the following amounts may be non-refundable:

  • Special-order charges
  • Booking amounts
  • Deposits
  • Applicable restocking fees
  • Shipping charges
  • Return freight charges
  • Other charges expressly identified as non-refundable in the order documentation

30. Abuse, Negligence and Improper Use

Refund or replacement eligibility may be denied when a product has been damaged because of abuse, negligence, improper installation, improper maintenance, incorrect fluids, overheating, continued operation after a warning condition, accident, unauthorized modification, or other misuse.

31. Performance Warranty Only

Engines Outlet's warranty and replacement commitments are primarily related to the applicable product's covered mechanical performance.

The warranty does not guarantee that a used product will have the same appearance as a new product.

32. Customer Responsibility to Minimize Damage

If an engine or transmission develops an abnormal noise, overheating condition, low oil pressure, warning light, fluid leak, shifting problem, or other serious mechanical symptom, the customer should stop operating the vehicle and contact Engines Outlet promptly.

Continuing to operate a vehicle after a known or suspected mechanical failure may cause additional damage and may affect warranty eligibility.

33. Fraudulent or Misleading Claims

Engines Outlet reserves the right to investigate warranty and refund claims and may deny claims involving false information, altered documents, fraudulent activity, unauthorized repairs, or other misrepresentation.

34. Policy Changes

Engines Outlet reserves the right to modify, update, or change this Refund & Replacement Policy from time to time.

The terms applicable to a particular purchase may also be provided on the customer's invoice, order confirmation, warranty documentation, or other written order documentation.

Customers should review the applicable policy and order documentation carefully before purchasing.

35. Applicable Rights

This policy is intended to describe the general refund, return, and replacement procedures of Engines Outlet. Nothing in this policy is intended to waive or limit any consumer rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived or limited under applicable law.

36. Contact Engines Outlet

If you have questions regarding a refund, return, replacement, cancellation, or warranty claim, please contact Engines Outlet.

37. Final Statement

All refunds, returns, cancellations, and warranty replacements are subject to the applicable terms of the customer's order, this policy, and applicable law.
